My name is Anna Drexler-Dreis.  I was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and moved out west in 2007 to attend Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado.  After graduating with a B.S. in Natural Resources Management and a minor in Watershed Science I left the states to volunteer on organic farms in New Zealand.  I moved to Grand County in 2011 to work in the Fraser Experimental Forest to study the mountain pine beetle.  After two years with the Forest Service I became the Stewardship Manager for Colorado Headwaters Land Trust and this is when I became involved in western water law and the effects of transmountain water diversions.  I am also enrolled in the Masters in Environmental Management Program at Western State Colorado University.  Before I graduate in 2017 I want to help landowners transfer their water rights into instream flows to improve the health of our currently degraded streams. I call Grand County my home and am always becoming increasingly concerned about the state of our rivers due to the many transmountain water diversions.  I wanted to create this page for Grand County residents to get all the information they need about the many water diversions in our beautiful county.  Click the buttons below to know more about Western State Colorado University's Masters in Environmental Management Program and Colorado Headwaters Land Trust.  Contact me at: anna.drexlerdreis@western.edu
